WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is an advanced technique of cosmetic tattooing that is done by a process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin with a row of micro sterile, disposable needles that form a blade shape which will produce the appearance of hair where there isn't any, or add more to enhance and create fullness where hair already exists. This is with a manual hand tool, not a machine.

DOES MICROBLADING HURT?

Topical anesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Most clients say it does not hurt at all! However, please note you will be more sensitive on your menstrual cycle.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The treatment will fade over time and a touch-up is required 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure and then every 6-8 months. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including sun exposure, chemical peels (glycolic, lactic, etc.), how active the client is, and how fast each individual's cell turnover is.  Please note that final results and time frame cannot be guaranteed as each skintype will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates.

Touch ups are needed for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring 2 or more visits. The initial procedure followed by a touch up procedure 30 days later. Previously tattooed eyebrows may require one or two additional appointments and rarely achieve the same results to those who have no previous tattoo work because of the existing scar tissue and color under the skin, even if it isn't visible.

WHAT WILL AFFECT MY NEW BROWS?

Sun exposure: The sun fades the pigment faster so sun block & hats should be your new best friends! (Besides your beautiful new brows)
The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
Not following aftercare instructions.
Exfoliating Acids.
Excessively Oily Skin Types.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY PROCEDURE?

If possible please come to your appointment with your brows filled in the way you do them daily so we can get a general feel of how you'll be comfortable with your microblading result. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 7 days after the procedure. Avoid any blood thinners for 24 hours prior to the appointment. This also includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Pre Workout and Alcohol.

CAN I BRING A GUEST TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You are more than welcome to bring one friend or family member with you to your appointment, however the county Health Department does not permit infants/toddlers or pets as we are located in a tattoo shop where client's open skin and blood is exposed.

HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER?

Beautiful. A lot of people think they will leave red and swollen but microblading doesn't usually cause swelling since its less invasive than a tattoo. You may feel your new brows look darker and thicker than expected for the first few days. Color will gradually soften in color and shrink slightly in size during the complete healing process (30 days).

If I have previous cosmetic tattoos, will I be a good candidate coverup?

Understanding your current brows, lips, eye liners situation will increase the opportunity of achieving a successful coverup. Emailing bright, clear, no makeup photos of previous work will be required before committing a service appointment.

What can restrict me from permanent make up services?

Being pregnant or nursing will restrict you from receiving services. Our artists scheduling will be ideal for planning around unexpected or expected life events. Please give our office a call for further details.

What age qualifies me for microblading services?

The legal age of 18 years old.

How long will my brows take to heal?

The initial healing period is one week. The complete healing process takes between 6-8 weeks. It should not be a problem going to work or doing daily activities immediately after as long as you are following the after care instructions.

Why did my brows disappear after my initial appointment?

During the initial healing process, your skin will begin to flake. Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

How long is the appointment?

Please allow at least three hours for your initial appointment to ensure set up and critiquing symmetry.

What happens after?

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This can past up to a week after treatment while the initial healing process takes place.

Will my skin be red or swollen?

Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients, and will disapate within 24-48 hours.

Why do I need a follow up appointment?

The complete healing process takes 4-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and it is only after 4 weeks that your touch-up/adjustments can be done.
